my CGtalk challenge process

rough colour test...to find a feeling of fairy tale

i think that's going to be the final concept...there will be some changes, but the idea is set down...cause i can't finish 4 of them in time...so just 2...

kk...back to the update...the final look of the salamander, then i just need to do some level adjustments when i put this into the final work... 

Haven't done yet...last update before Christmas...merry Christmas to everyone...

salamander's color set...now i just need too add details (probably gonna take 3 hours) then basically done with this character.

woke up at 5:30 and came up with this concept...that is a broken lock...

I was thinking when I was eating after the skating and on the way back home...so after home...i did this quick sketch...the concept of Undine, the water elemental...

got insomnia again...so woke up and did this concept...Gnome, the earth elemental

Scarsoul Daljeet&Sunao

Just a line art...

Daljeet and Sunao are two hitmen and parters. They always argue with each other who is the sidekick. Sunao's favorite weapon is his Gatling gunsword, called "6Violet"(I'll do some violets on that gun when i color it), violets in Hanakotoba(japanese flower langages) mean honesty and frankness, which is representing his name Sunao in japanese. Daljeet is a name of light pink rose in India. Light pink rose means passion, joy of life and energy. And he always has a light pink rose in his chest pocket. 

The background story isn't finished. But I think I'd better let them finish their own background...

you two can write down your stories in comments...OR someone wants to MESS with them, you can write down the story about them too...good luck Daljeet and Sunao...

There's a city called SCARSOUL part 2 and 3

Coltsfoot and Blackthorn (line art and color test)

They are partners in Scarsoul centre police office. Few years ago, Blackthorn was killed with a car bomb that someone set on their police car. Coltsfoot asked a devil to bring him back to life, and wished to trade it with his emotions. But that devil was interrupted by an angel when he was doing the magic. Blackthorn was back to life, but his soul and body was mixing with that police car and a cat that was killed in the explosion. Now his favorite drink is gas. Then the devil only took Coltsfoot’s ability of expressing his emotions. He can’t even say he is happy or angry. And the angel gave him a gun which is using his emotions as bullets. His only way to express his emotions is shooting. They are also looking for normal lives in this city. Coltsfoot means justice shall be done in the languages of flowers. And Blackthorn means protection.

Lychnis and Alkanet (line art and colour test)

Lychnis’ family is hereditary dragon knight. But they lost their relationship with the dragons long time ago for some reasons. They gradually forget their pride and custom. Lychnis found a book in a package which is someone mailed to him. It’s talking about the history about his ancestors and tells a secret place. He found Alkanet’s skull in that secret place. Alkanet was dragon according to it self’s words. When Lychnis put the skull in his bicycle, it merged with the bicycle and parasitized on Lychnis body. Now Lychnis is fighting with Alkanet to grab the domination of their bodies. And he works in the Sacrsoul post office try to find the person who sent him the book. Lychnis means Religious enthusiasm in the languages of flowers. Alkanet means disguise.

My FLASH menu page, i was wondering if i have all the contents?

there's a city called Scarsoul...

ummm...well...i finished this drawing for no reason during such a busy time.

Here's the process. First I draw in pencil.  then scan it to computer after i inked it.

Then do a quick color test in 10-15 mints like the first pic...after i decide what colors

to go. I start to do the details and live tracing the lineart in Illustrator. This colorate process

took me about 4 hours. Could be faster.

Here's the background and concept of the pic:

There's a city called SCARSOUL full with freaks. Hers's the first one.

His name is Hyacinth, associated in mythology with rebirth. And the flower language means constancy if it's blue. Sorrow is always with him because he's cursed that never can get health. He can't die untill he meet the one who can release him from this curse. A prophet told him that he could find that person in Scarsoul.  So now he lives in Scarsoul, and works in a reposing room in the biggest hospital of scarsoul.

Viktor & Rolf

I absolute love the Viktor & Rolf logo! VERY sophisticated  There's something about their design of the perfume that looks really attractive... to me. Maybe the pink and black contrast, the simple and clean look?  Also it's looks different than most of the perfums out there... it's not curvy! Good packaging idea.Their website is very cool too, a lot of flash stuff.

Gignin logo

This logo, Gignin, that I did last week for my cousin's IM software(something kinda like MSN, Skype, but his can change people's voices when they are chatting...useless option for me )...so the point is play something with sounds...then i made the vertical lines look like some kinda spectrums from the old radio screen...

What do u guys think? Now I kinda like the big A logo JUst a little more~... but i don't know what colour I should use. The mission for this SIFE project is to approach youth and to help them with financial problems.

Has anyone started on the portfolio website yet? I started today (doing as I was told) and this is what I've come up with. I'm trying to make it look as much like my work as possible. I haven't yet figured out how to do 5 different drop down menus at the same time, as you see, they're all kind of dropping at once.

Chinese medicine packaging

I found this when my mom was making some soup for me. It's just a paper that wraps around the medicine.  But they actually design something on the paper as a form of packaging that makes it cool~

My design for GTPO.  The top is the flyer for their Halloween party and the bottom one is their concert ticket.  Can you see the music clef for from the ticket design? 

The Halloween design was a little challenging with all the info that is needed to be place in that little space.  I know I used just a little too much different typeface in there.... sssshhhh John~ :D
